Thursday, March 23rd, 2017
In this changing world, the use of the internet has developed significantly. This also leads to the emerging of the new issues regarding the cyber world. According to the World Summit on the Internet Society 2005, cyber governance was defined as “The development and application of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programs that shape the evolution and use of the internet”. The rise of the internet in the global world has also brought many impacts, including the adverse effects of the global security, or what we can say as cyber-crimes. Towards these, Germany and Singapore have joined force to promote cyber infrastructure through implementing Plattform Industrie 4.0 on March 22nd, 2017, in front of the Audio Visual room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences building, Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, Indonesia.
This platform aims to develop joint recommendations for all stakeholders, that serve as the basis for a consistent and reliable framework. The platform will initiate alliances and networks at the precompetitive stage which support the evolution of the entrepreneurial skills and energy. Germany, as the initiator, has invited Singapore to implement Plattform Industrie 4.0 with the intention to promote cyber infrastructure. As one of the states who has a strong relationship in economy and leading country in Southeast Asia region, Singapore is compatible to start implementing the platform in order to be socialized to neighboring countries.
(Germany and Singapore signed the MoU)
Singapore agreed to the Cooperation on Developing Internet Norms and Cyber Governance through Cyber Infrastructure in Southeast Asia by implementing Plattform Industrie 4.0 since the agreement supports one of the agenda in the World Summit in Cyber Governance MMXVII. This platform also goes along with Singapore’s vision to make Singapore a smart nation. Singapore also believes that this partnership is promising as Germany is well-known as one of the developed countries in Europe.
Both party hope that by signing the Memorandum of Understanding, the relationship between two countries will be strengthened. They also hope that they will complement each other with the innovations that will build youth development and internet development for the next generation.
