The Memorandum of Understanding between Saudi Arabia and Google has been signed Monday, April 10th, 2017, in terms of Cyber Infrastructure, Capacity Building, and Cyber Security. The meeting was held in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building, Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, Indonesia.
The cooperation between both parties aims to strengthen and develop the cooperation on cyber infrastructure and information sharing system. By signing the agreement, both parties have recognized the importance of cyber infrastructure development, capacity building, as well as to prevent the cyber attacks by supporting the cyber security system. They also agreed to promote the cordial environment of cyber space and multi-stakeholderism for peaceful purposes.
Both parties committed to actively participate in the cooperation, as Google committed to provide the technological assistance and share best practices in form of capacity building to enhance internet literacy and to raise awareness on how the internet works by also complying with the constitution and regulations of the Saudi Arabia. While Saudi Arabia will support the advancement of Google through supporting the Project Loon in the country and establishment of Google office in the area of Kingdom Abdullah Science and Technology City. Saudi Arabia will also support Google on the sector of Artificial Intelligence as a cyber system against any kind of cyber attacks.
Google and Saudi Arabia hope that the cooperation will create a safe and more advance technology in the cyber system also open other investment opportunities in the future for both parties.
