As of today, Wednesday, April 12th, 2017, the bilateral agreement between Turkey and Indonesia was signed in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building, Parahyangan Catholic University. The agreement focused in enhancing cyber security against cybercrime and cyberattack among both parties. Turkey initiated to invite Indonesia to enhance their cyber security in order to combating cybercrime and cyber-attack under military command.
By signing the agreement, both parties agreed to conduct a study defense development in military sector, improve the cooperation in the defense industry, establish the same perception on the term cyber threat, and promote the importance of cyber awareness among both countries. The issue on cyber security is considered as important matter according to Turkey since the internet users are now increasing and seeking for a safer cyberspace to carry out something related to government and commerce under cyberspace.
The agreement is based on common interest to develop military command under cyberspace. They both hope that this cooperation could lead to a wider scope and not only implemented within the two countries. Indonesia also hope that the cooperation between the two countries in the cyber fields could lead to another cooperation in other fields.
