Amazon represented by their subsidiary, Amazon Web Services and the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding their cooperation to enhance cybersecurity also in the field of research and developments on Monday, April 17th, 2017, in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building, Parahyangan Catholic University.
Both parties agreed to enhance the cybersecurity for the United Kingdom’s G-Cloud by recruiting human resources for the development of cybersecurity and giving an immediate response to cyber-threats. Other than that, they also committed to develop research and developments programs in the sector of AWS QuickStart and provide cloud that is user-friendly for the United Kingdom’s officials. Another important point to be highlighted in the MoU is that both parties agreed to provide assistance for the civil society by developing re:Start program to help veterans and their spouses. They also committed to enhance cybersecurity, especially in the field of digital economy to prevent large-scale cyberattacks.
They hope that the cooperation will be the start of more cooperation in the future. Amazon is also glad that the United Kingdom has trusted them for enhancing cybersecurity protection and cyber infrasructure architecture.
