[PRESS RELEASE]: “ITU PROMOTED A PROJECT BROUGHT BY GOOGLE TO ESTABLISH A BETTER INTERNET LITERACY FOR DEVELOPING AND UNDEVELOPED COUNTRIES”

Two multinational corporations which are Google and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) were signing the Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, Indonesia.

This MoU is about strengthening the cooperation between both parties, broadening and expanding relations between both parties, and promoting the importance of preserving cyber infrastructure, information sharing and also human rights and privacy in areas of mutual benefit for peaceful purposes.

The cooperation will collaborate Google and ITU to work together in achieving internet literacy to the society. Furthermore, ITU will provide the capacity building program brought by Google (Project Loon) for the internet literacy focusing on the developing and underdeveloped countries.

Both parties expect that this cooperation would serve their common interests and strengthen and further develop cooperation between Google and ITU in the field of cybersecurity, cyber infrastructure, and human rights.
