On Thursday, April 20th, 2017, Google gathered all media in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building, Parahyangan Catholic University to sign a multilateral memorandum of understanding regarding the information sharing under the cyberspace. The meeting was attended by seven media including Fox News, The New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, Russian News Agency TASS, Al Jazeera, and The Hindu.
By signing the MoU, all the parties involved including Reuters, have agreed to cooperate in combating false news or fake news and that all the media will participate in Google Transparency Report. We also agree to strengthen, promote, and develop cooperation in the field of cyberspace between all of the eight parties on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
The MoU aims to broaden and expand the relations between all parties and to promote the importance of preserving and enhancing information sharing, in areas of mutual benefit for peaceful purposes.
Under this MoU, all parties believed that such cooperation would serve our common interests and contribute to enhancing cyber information sharing system. We are also expecting a strong and further cooperation between the eight parties in the field of information sharing.
