[PRESS RELEASE]: “REUTERS AND EWI PARTNERED UP IN PROMOTING THE IMPORTANCE OF INTERNATIONAL NORMS AND RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR ON CYBERSPACE”

Reuters along with EastWest Institute (EWI) signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation and partnership in raising awareness of the importance of international norms and responsible behavior on cyberspace and protection for journalist in the cyberspace. The meeting took place in front of Audio Visual Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building, Parahyangan Catholic University on Friday, April 21st, 2017.

The MoU aims to promote the awareness of the importance of international norms and responsible behavior on cyberspace. By signing the MoU, EWI committed to conduct workshops, seminars, and dialogue in relation to the protection and education regarding the importance of international norms and responsible behavior on cyberspace while Reuters committed to be an official media partner for EWI throughout the World Summit on Cyber Governance MMXVII along with promoting and highlighting issue regarding the importance of international norms and responsible behavior and the use of international humanitarian law to protect the journalist.

EWI and Reuters hope that by signing the MoU, the cyberspace could be more secure and could contribute further in the making of a better cyber governance especially in the international norms and responsible behavior under the cyberspace through the project that have been stated in the MoU.
