During the World Summit on Cyber Governance MMXVII held on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 specifically during the unmoderated caucus, Indonesia has done the press conference discussing about the main reason why they did an annex on the definition of cyber governance yesterday in the World Government Summit.
Indonesia clarified that the main reason they did an annex is because the definition of the cyber governance itself is only to accommodate certain parties, not because they don’t want to conduct the multi-stakeholderism. Indonesia, as a country who referred themselves as a neutral party said that by adopting that definition of cyber governance will make them not accommodate all parties. They also stated that they’re adopting both multi-stakeholderism and multilateralism and they added that it’s crucial to have a complete definition in order to accommodate every party.
Therefore, Indonesia said that the definition of cyber governance is a fundamental thing in the summit. So, if the definition of it didn’t accommodate all parties, Indonesia can’t really state their position as a neutral party. They also prefer to not mention the word multi-stakeholderim or other word and they will work out on the more neutral definition of cyber governance.
